TULSA, Okla. ( Associated Press) — Latest in the second round of the PGA Championship (all-time local):
11:15 am
Tiger Woods scored an 8-foot to bogey on a par-4 ninth at the PGA Championship on Saturday, one of his worst nine-hole scores in a major. He finished front side in 6 overs 41 on a cold and windy morning in Southern Hills.
Woods hit his tee shot in the water in seconds and bogeyed it. He hit another tee shot into the water on sixth, then threw his pitch shot and made a triple. He also missed a 7-foot score to equalize in seventh before his bogey on the ninth.
The last hole in the front was a strange adventure.
Woods had driven into the fairway bunker 100 yards from the green when his next shot hit the lip, which quickly lifted in front of him. Since Woods was no longer in the bunker, he was allowed a free drop within a club’s length of the spot, giving him a good lie in the fairway. He still missed the green from there.

Tiger Woods shot two of his first six holes in the water during the third round of the PGA Championship, including a sixth shot on the sixth Saturday of a par-3, which ultimately resulted in a triple bogey.
Trouble began in the par-4 second, when Woods found the stream flowing off the tee but managed to make a bogey.
Four holes later, he hit another tee shot into the water on a 218-yard sixth and everything settled. He played from the drop zone and hit the rough left side of the green, then left his pitch short of the putting surface. Woods eventually hit a six within 2 feet and put on for the six, which saved him 7 overs for the championship.
Woods did not have a penalty shot in his first two rounds at Southern Hills.

Tiger Woods has picked up where he left off at the PGA Championship, but only for a short time.
Woods made five of his last six holes at the end of the second round, including a 15-foot par putt, which allowed him to rally to make the cut in Southern Hills.
He started the third round with a 15-foot par put. But on the second hole, Woods put his tee shot into the meandering stream. It was his first penalty shot of the week. He wound up with a bogey and had 4 overs for the tournament. A traditional draw at No 3 saw them drop 1 over for the round.
The temperature is still above 60 degrees, and Louis Osthuizen arrived wearing a full-face scarf to combat the cold.
Early on, Webb Simpson 2 is under way through four holes, but is barely making much ground.

Downwind with rain at the PGA Championship on Saturday.
Southern Hills received about half an inch of rain in the morning, with the start of the third round being delayed by about 30 minutes due to lightning. This left the course a bit soft as it started to firm up.
Will Zalatoris has a one-shot lead and won’t start until noon. On deck is Tiger Woods, who showed a great fight in his finish for 69 runs to make one cut after another.
Woods was 12 shots behind.
