Much has been said about graphene in the world of modern computing, and indeed a few years ago it was considered an almost miraculous material that was going to take technology to a level that is unattainable with current technology. However, due to the difficulty of handling it, in the end, few manufacturers dared to use it in their products.
Graphene in headphones… why?
However, when it comes to headphones, Logitech has found a panacea in this material: as it is extremely rigid and extremely light, it is ideal for audio peripherals where the lowest possible weight is sought for maximum comfort But it’s also the best audio quality possible… and that’s something that, well, graphene provides.
Why is it interesting to apply graphene to headphones? As you may already know, what produces sound in a speaker (after all, there are speakers in headphones) is the diaphragm, which vibrates. The more elastic the diaphragm material, the more oscillations are generated to generate waves, which lead to distortion and noise. However, since graphene is so rigid, it immediately returns to its position as soon as it finishes emitting a wave, making the fidelity of the sound practically perfect.
This is what Logitech has dubbed Live Edge Suspension. Obviously, and as you can see in the slide we’ve placed above these lines, the brand has tuned the neodymium magnet (what they call the driver motor) and these diaphragms made of 90% graphene to adapt. analogy to (they couldn’t be 100% graphene because otherwise they would be too brittle, and the point is that they have to be somewhat flexible in order to be able to vibrate and produce sound), but also that the diaphragm Remains in suspension, allowing the graphene to, to a certain extent, move freely (so you can return to your original position sooner).
In short, by using graphene in the construction of these headphones, Logitech makes them lighter and the sound more faithful, neither more nor less.
Logitech g pro x2 arrives
Well, we’ve already told you that these headphones are lighter (they weigh 345 grams, 25 grams less than the Logitech G Pro X’s predecessor model) and have greater fidelity, but arguably a few simple Calling the media to introduce headphones would not make much sense, so there is much more to talk about.
For starters, these headphones have triple connectivity; On one hand, we have the connection we’ll be using most often, the Logitech LightSpeed (which is nothing more than optimized 2.4GHz RF) which has been optimized for even lower latency and, be careful, pushed to its limits. Has gone 30 meters away.
On the other hand, the new Logitech G Pro X2 also allow connection via Bluetooth, in case you want to use them with a smartphone or similar for listening to music on the road (for which you’ll also be interested to know that the microphone is removable and PON), and of course if you prefer a more traditional connection, they accept a 3.5mm minijack cable for analog audio to use.
The battery has also been improved and now offers up to 50 hours of autonomy, something that is very welcome in headphones that are designed to be used wirelessly. Finally, the brand has also guaranteed us that they are much more comfortable than the previous version, and this was emphasized by the professional players from the Heretics eSports team present during the presentation.
Price and Availability
The new Logitech G Pro X2 were officially announced today, but they won’t be available until May 30, 2023. It will initially cost €269 in the official store of the brand, and this will be the price at which we can find them. In general distributors of brands such as Amazon Spain or PcComponentes.
By the way, during the presentation the brand gave us a unit of these new headphones, so you can expect our analysis in the coming days, in which we will show you first hand and we will tell you how they work in real time. stay tuned!
