new edge Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania Showcased the return of an actor to UCM. But his return to the Loki series was already anticipated
Official trailer release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania revealed the return of a minor hero villain to the UMC, though in a different way than we expected. However, his character’s return was already anticipated in the Disney+ series, Loki. Beware of spoilers if you haven’t seen the preview for the third installment of Ant-Man yet.
Corey Stoll, the actor who played Darren Cross / Yellow Jacket, returns Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania in the MCU as MODOK, but the actor’s return was somewhat anticipated in Loki’s first season.
Stoll’s character was not named because he was defeated at the end of the first Ant-Man film. However, all of that is about to change in Trequel.
As seen in the latest trailer of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania, Stoll returns to the MCU, this time assuming the role of MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only to Kill). Stoll had earlier hinted that he would return doubtfully saying “could not answer” if he had any future involvement in the UCM.
a declared return
Now fans will surely be excited to see the return of Stoll and his debut as MODOK. But for some this comeback isn’t so surprising. Since they were able to spot an Easter egg that showed Cross’ return to UCM was not long in coming.
In the fifth episode of Loki’s first season, Yellowjacket’s helmet can be seen in the Void, the mysterious interdimensional plane. The piece of dress was found embedded in the zero hills. It seems to have a large size but it is unmistakable; As it can be clearly seen that the glasses of the helmet are yellow and there is a silver piece for the mouth and chin in the style of a gas mask.
When the Disney+ series Multiversal airs in June 2021, Stoll was written to return for Quantummania, referencing this Easter egg in the character’s Loki. So, it’s fair to assume that it could be Marvel Studios laying down the initial breadcrumbs for the actor’s MCU return as MODOK.
How was Yellow Jacket Modak made?
Easter egg doesn’t explain how Darren Cross got to the end antman To become MODOK in Quantumania or if it is the same form of the character we met in the first movie. But here we bring you some theories that can explain it.
The villain, played by Stoll, could have gotten where he needs to with his final moments in Ant-Man, in a way. While Scott Lang cuts off Darren Cross, it appears to be forever.
As explained by Marvel Studios up to this point. The quantum field is as small as one can go. So if Stoll’s Ant-Man character continues to shrink, it would make sense that he would eventually end up in the Quantum Realm.
The way Cross shrunk at the end of the movie could also explain how he became the misshapen and grotesque MODOK, and Kang could have easily found him and saved his life, equipping him with that suit which he currently wears in the Quantum Realm.
We’ll soon find out if this is Darren Cross from the first Ant-Man movie or just a version when it’s released. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania On 17 February. You can watch the full first season of Loki with your subscription to Disney+.
