Governor Lorena Cuellar Cisneros inaugurated the first Inter-Secretary Meeting of the Livestock Sector, with the aim of establishing a strategy for a common agenda between the federal entities.
During this Thursday and Friday, participants will address issues such as movement of animals, their products and by-products; Rustle; List of National Livestock Register (PGN); and cattle transit guides in each federal unit, among others.
The Tlaxcalan president stressed that the meeting will also strengthen strategies and links that allow participating federal entities to maintain animal health status and improve control of livestock movement.
“In Tlaxcala, we have taken action with a comprehensive vision that prioritizes the objective of bringing well-being to the communities who work the land and achieving food self-sufficiency,” he stressed.
Before the participants, Cuéllar Cisneros highlighted that historically in Tlaxcala, more than 900 million pesos have been dispensed annually, such as Sembrando Vida, Fertilizers for Production and Well-being, unit with 70,000 producers for the benefit of .
“In this government we have invested a greater number of resources for the countryside and in accordance with this vision of the Mexican government, our policy to promote agriculture is also based on three pillars: to increase the production of the land, to preserve sustainable Developing agriculture taking care of natural resources, water and land use, as well as building an inclusive agriculture”, he said.
Finally, he added that the livestock sector in Tlaxcala is very important in terms of productivity and economic development, as it enjoys a great cultural tradition and is a fundamental piece to promote tourism.
On this occasion, Rafael de la Peña Bernal, head of the Secretariat for Promotion of Agriculture (SIA), thanked him for organizing the meeting to resolve issues of interest.

Finally, the municipal president of Atlangatepec, Alfredo Ponce Hernandez, thanked for the opportunity to host this first meeting, as the region’s officials promote and regulate the development of agriculture, livestock and fishing.
“With attention to agricultural and rural problems in the state, the establishment of strategies and channeling of resources to municipalities and benefiting agricultural and livestock producers,” he concluded.
The states of Puebla, Morelos, Hidalgo, Tabasco, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas, Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, State of Mexico, Campeche, Sinaloa and Tlaxcala participate.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Executive Director of the Mexican Association of Secretaries of Agricultural Development (EMSDA) and SIA staff, among other authorities.
