“Today at 9:30 in the evening I transmitted to the acting President, Mr. Pedro Rocha, my resignation from the position of President of the RFEF. I also informed him that I am doing the same in my position at UEFA so that my position of the Vice Presidency can be replaced,” he pointed out on his X network account (formerly Twitter).
“I have faith in the truth and I will do everything in my power to make it prevail,” added the manager in a letter.
THIS IS WHAT LUS RUBIALES’ RESIGNATION LETTER SAID
“Good evening. Today at 9:30 pm I transmitted to the acting President, Mr. Pedro Rocha, my resignation from the position of President of the RFEF. I also informed him that I am doing the same in my position at UEFA so that my position in the Vice Presidency can be replaced.
After the swift suspension imposed by FIFA, in addition to the remaining procedures opened against me, it is clear that I cannot return to my position. Insisting on waiting and holding on to it will not bring anything positive, neither to the Federation nor to Spanish football. Among other things, because there are de facto powers that prevent my return. There is the management of my team and, above all, the joy I have had for the great privilege of these more than 5 years at the head of the RFEF.
I don’t want Spanish football to be damaged by this whole disproportionate campaign and, above all, I made this decision after making sure that my departure will contribute to the stability that will allow Europe and Africa to remain united in the dream in 2030. , which will allow the largest event in the world to be brought to our country. I have to look forward, look to the future.
Now there is one thing that strongly occupies me. I have faith in the truth and I will do everything in my power to make it prevail. My daughters, my family and the people who love me have suffered the effects of excessive persecution, as well as many lies, but it is also true that in the streets, more and more every day, the truth is prevailing.
From here I will announce to all workers, assembly members, federations and football people in general, a big hug, wishing them the best of luck. Thank you to everyone who supported me during these times.”
