After Kate and Matt, and Carolina and Dion tied the knot, the couples are off to celebrate on their honeymoons. But for another couple, Jessica and Daniel, their Married At First Sight journey is just the beginning.
Jessica and Daniel’s Wedding
Daniel grew up in a broken home where he, his brother and sister lived with their dad.
“He was an alcoholic. From the morning to night there would be beer being consumed and then he became somewhat of a monster,” Daniel explains. He didn’t have much of a relationship with his mum.

“Unfortunately my brother, he was a product of our environment, and when I was 17 and he was 21, he took his own life,” the groom adds.
Daniel reveals that fitness and the gym changed his life for the better. It taught him discipline and hard work, and helped him to get on track.
“I’m 30 now. Starting a family, having a healthy relationship is something that’s very important to me,” Daniel says, noting that he’s very close with his niece and his sister.
Daniel wants someone who has emotional intelligence and who’s a good communicator, and the experts believe Jess is the one.
The 27-year-old retail assistant has also grown up with struggles, having lost her sister to breast cancer.
“It completely shaped me. I had to grow up a lot quicker than the people around me,” she says.
The bride is very close to her parents, and she misses them on her wedding day, with Covid-19 restrictions meaning that Jess and Daniel are tying the knot with no guests.
When Daniel turns to face Jess walking down the aisle he’s blown away by his “beautiful” bride.
“Straight away I can feel his energy,” Jess says. “I can feel he’s calm and down to earth.”
Their vows are a hit, and they leave the wedding ceremony with big smiles on their faces.
During their intimate reception, both Jess and Daniel open up on their losses, with Jess revealing to Daniel that her sister passed away from breast cancer, and Daniel revealing that his brother died by suicide.
“I connected to him, because I know how it feels to lose someone,” Jess says.
That night, during a chat, Jess makes a comment about wearing trackies to her “real-life wedding” and unknowingly the innocent comment sends Daniel spiraling.
“I’m not trying to overthink it, but this is very real to me,” he says. He goes to “the toilet” where we hear him fuming to a producer about the moment.
“Why would you say that? What is this then, is it fake? I don’t know… I’m not going to pretend with her if I know that she doesn’t think it’s serious,” he says.
“I just don’t know if she’s genuine.”
Jess has absolutely no idea what kind of explosion she’s set off.
Daniel walks outside to tell Jess that he wants to make sure she’s genuine, with the bride explaining that if they work out, she still wants another wedding with her family and friends.
“Calm down about that. Why freak out and leave and not speak to me?” Jess tells him, unimpressed.
After an otherwise successful wedding day, the moment appears to leave the couple in crisis.
Jessica and Daniel’s honeymoon
Daniel wakes up the following morning feeling “like a bit of an idiot”. Jess is happy that he’s “taken accountability” and she’s ready to leave the scuffle in the past.
The pair spend some time together painting, and Daniel opens up about struggling growing up with his alcoholic father.
“8am first drink, 10pm last drink, passed out on the couch. That’s all he used to do,” Daniel explains.
“You’ve been through a lot. You should be really proud of yourself,” Jess tells him.
But that night, their cute dinner date takes a turn for the worse when the Honesty Box appears.
It leads to Jess telling Daniel that while he’s good looking, he’s not her usual type.
Daniel responds by saying the while Jess is his type, she’s not his “dream girl”.
Given a free question, Jess then asks, “If you could change something about me… let’s say physically, what would it be?”
“Why would you do that to me?” Daniel fumes. “That puts me in a position to look like a d…. It’s like asking me to hurt your feelings.”
He continues, calling the question “a trap”, and refusing to answer. Jess isnt happy.
“That’s just kind of an answer in itself. You’re saying there’s things you’d change that would be hurtful to me,” Jess explains.
The dinner turns ice cold, and Jess is unimpressed by Daniel’s “tantrum”.
It leads to the couple spending the night alone in separate beds, but at 1am Daniel isn’t sleeping, with the groom saying he was woken up by Jess on the phone “going off about me”.
We have a feeling it’s going to be a very interesting morning for the newlyweds.
Kate and Matt’s honeymoon
Matt wakes and stars blankly at a sleeping Kate. “First time in the bed with Kate was absolutely magical,” he says. “She’s a very sexy woman.”
Kate explains they “pretty much just went to bed”, and we’re really wanting to know Matt’s debrief is if they ever take it further.
While Matt is feeling a spark, Kate is absolutely not.
Arriving at their accommodation in Berry, Matt excitedly exclaims, “I feel like I’m in The Notebook,
Kate’s never seen The Notebookbut she is fascinated by a clock in their living room.
Later the couple go for a swim, where Matt’s bombs and dives fail to impress Kate.
Carolina and Dion’s honeymoon
Carolina “enjoyed having someone in bed to wake up to” but reveals there was no romance, only Dion snoring.
She also realizes that the groom has more suitcases full of clothes than her.
“Right now I can tell that he does have a bit of money,” Carolina observes.
When the Honesty Box appears at their honeymoon, Carolina opens up on being cheated on in her past.
“A few things were off and one day I went through his phone, his bank account and I found all these weird charges. When I found out what those charges were, he was a regular at a mature ladies brothel,” she retells.
But when asked if she’s attracted to Dion, she tells the groom, “You’re not my usual type… I do think there is potential but I don’t think I’m attracted to you yet.”
“OK, well I am attracted to you,” Dion replies.
A few moments later, thinking the cameras aren’t rolling, Carolina tells Dion exactly what she’s thinking.
“I think, well, we all know that you do have a bit of money. The girls probably pretend to be attracted to you because of it and I’m not that type of girl,” she begins.
“I do like money. Who doesn’t, but… I’m not going to fake something just because someone has money.”
“I didn’t think that at all but yeah, OK,” says Dion.
Carolina then goes for another blow. “Did you think you were that hot that people can’t be attracted to you at first?” she asks him.
“I’m sure many people aren’t attracted to me,” Dion says, adding later to the cameras that Carolina’s comments were “a real kick in the gut”.
Domenica and Jack spend the night apart after their public fight at Kate and Matt’s wedding, before chatting about it in the morning.
While Domenica thinks her comments were “funny”, Jack found her “little digs” to be embarrassing.
Domenica apologises for how she made Jack feel, and the couple are back on track.
