Mahindra Scorpio-N will be bigger than these SUVs!

Recently, the full-blown showcase of the Mahindra Scorpio exterior has created a lot of buzz in the market. Everyone is waiting for the launch of the new Scorpio or rather, the Scorpio-N. 20 years in the business, Scorpio has only grown in popularity and ruggedness. This time Mahindra is focusing not only on Roughness but also on Technology. Sometime back, the Scorpio N was spotted testing a Ford Endeavor. In this article, we have mentioned some important details about the Mahindra Scorpio-N including launch details as well as what is currently in store for the available SUV.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Size

Mahindra Scorpio-N

Mahindra Scorpio was already a big car. Now, in its new generation, it could be even bigger. Though the car is fully exposed, spy shots from the past clearly show that the new Scorpio looks just as tall as the Endeavor, if not more. The Scorpio-N could also be bigger than the current generation SUV. A developed muscular body will certainly help the new Scorpio-N to offer even better road presence. Since the Toyota Fortuner is of the same size as the Endeavor, we expect the Scorpio-N to give a tough competition to the Fortuner in this department as well.

engine options

Mahindra Scorpio-N

The Mahindra Scorpio-N is said to be powered by a 2.0-litre petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine that also powers the Thar and XUV700. However, the engine of the Scorpio N is expected to produce the same power figure as the Thar. Mahindra may offer different state tunes for the higher and lower variants. These engines will be mated to a six-speed manual and a six-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox. Also, a 4X4 drivetrain will be on offer.

Mahindra Scorpio-N Features

Mahindra Scorpio-N will have a lot of new generation features that the current generation misses out. A large touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX AI, a semi-digital instrument cluster, connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, third-row AC vents and a normal electric sunroof are mostly expected to be part of the technology list. Whether or not ADAS will be on option is still a question that will be answered once more details emerge.

Price and launch

Mahindra Scorpio-N

Mahindra has fixed June 27 as the launch date of the Scorpio-N. Mahindra may keep the price of the Scorpio very aggressive like its sibling XUV700. We expect the new generation Scorpio to start with an aggressive price tag of around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Considering the overall package, this is definitely a product worth waiting for. Apart from this, Mahindra will continue to sell the existing Scorpio along with the new one with the ‘Scorpio Classic’ nameplate.
