Today, we are taking another big step forward in this journey with the release of next-generation AI capabilities to power Virtual Agents and AI Builder, through the Azure OpenAI service.

Four years ago we announced Founder AI as the first AI capability on the Microsoft Power Platform, followed 18 months ago by Power Apps Ideas, which was the first infusion of generative AI into a commercially available product. And we continued to invest through the addition of a rapid strategy in Potencia Apps and a description to flow in Potencia Automate just last year. and we have much more to come.
Conversation enhancers in the power of virtual agents
Virtual Power Agent is a low-code approach to building bots with an intuitive visual drag-and-drop approach that dramatically simplifies the creation of bots, all backed up with experience if needed (preview). And, like most tools in the automotive industry, the manufacturer tried to create conversation topics and set up alternate flows.
But that’s about to change with the new Conversation Effects feature in Virtual Agent Power.
Typically, when an automaton encounters a question or answer that it has not been trained to answer, it can only respond in one way: ask the user to represent it or offer to connect with a human agent, which we are all familiar with. when
Now, through the power of next-generation AI, their bots can connect to their most recent and useful data sources, such as internal and external company websites, and the bots immediately begin using that data to build a response.
This means that out of the box, the bot is ready to answer user questions based on your information on the site, all without creating a single theme or spending additional development cycles. This gives developers time to focus on building complex conversation flows and delivering higher payment rates and better results for customers.
With the Conversation Enhancer feature, you can use a given source to contain your single source of truth across multiple channels throughout the chat experience, and automated responses are filtered and moderated so you can comply with the principles of responsible AI.
This would also unlock the new use of automated cases, which was difficult to justify due to the expected time and cost of building. With Auto now capable of searching, summarizing and managing responses at high speed, with just a home and no additional development, you can quickly build automations to help solve repetitive queries for your customers and support internal functions like HR, IT, operations and more.

Create text with GPT model in AI builder
AI Builder has democratized access to complex AI models for use in Power Apps and Automate Power and includes models for category classification, object detection, inference, sentiment analysis, and more.
And today we’re excited to announce the addition of a new Azure OpenAI service model that unlocks new ways for organizations to integrate their text generation understanding capabilities into Power Automate and Power Apps solutions with just a few clicks.
Creators can use pre-built models to interact with models and create their own custom workflows, reducing development time for both professional and citizen developers.
It’s easy to get started and use the new template in your app or flow, including some examples:
- The researcher can use the template to summarize the text of the public reports every week and send it all to his inbox with Power Automate. This helps inform your analysis and quickly identify themes.
- A marketer can create specific generated content ideas by entering specific keywords or topics and using generated text for email or social media, all within their marketing tools.
- A customer service agent can create a workflow within Power Automate to summarize, classify, and route customer inquiries for quick responses to complaints or feedback.
The sky really is the limit, which is why AI is an invaluable tool and a key ingredient in the Microsoft Power Platform. AI helps everyone, regardless of experience or skill level, to quickly and easily use AI in the solutions they create.

The chat enhancer feature in Power Virtual Agent is experimental and its accuracy and timeliness cannot be guaranteed. It is currently not possible to publish your bots while this feature is enabled, but you can easily disable it in the settings at any time.
