New Delhi: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lost by 1736 votes to the most talked-about Nandigram seat in West Bengal. Shuvendu officials of BJP won from here. Shuvendu has been an MLA on this seat before. This time he joined the BJP, then Mamata Banerjee hit a rhythm against him from Nandigram seat.
However, Shuvendu claimed his victory before the election. Shuvendu had said that he would defeat Mamta Banerjee from this seat. Shuvendu Adhikari got a total of 109673 votes. While Mamta Banerjee got 107937 votes. That is, Shuvendu defeated Mamta by 1736 votes.
A total of 17 rounds were held at Nandigram seat. In this, Shuvendu was leading in almost every round, but after the 13th round, Mamata was ahead by about 1500 votes. After this, the contest went on hard and eventually Shuvendu won the last round. However, TMC did not like this defeat. It has demanded re-counting of the Chief Electoral Officer of Bengal.
Meanwhile, Mamta Banerjee made allegations after the defeat of Nandigram seat after TMC’s stunning victory. Mamta said, I got a SMS from a person. In which the returning officer of Nandigram wrote to someone that his life would be in danger if he allowed counting again. The server was down for four hours, the governor also congratulated me. Suddenly everything changed.
Mamta said, she (BJP) should not have even crossed the 50 seats, this (BJP’s winning 77 seats) is due to the contribution of the Election Commission. Mamta Banerjee announced all journalists to be Kovid Warriors.
At the same time, after the victory, Shuvendu Adhikari accused TMC of spreading violence in Bengal. Shwendu tweeted and said, Trinamool wants to create an atmosphere of terror in Bengal. Today my car was attacked in Haldia. An attempt was made to break the glass of the car by throwing stones.
