He didn’t expect it! When Manuela Frey (25) went to the toilet at Zurich’s trendy Astra on Thursday evening, the model had an unexpected encounter: suddenly music star Ed Sheeran (31) was standing in front of her. “I was so shocked and excited that he was suddenly there,” she tells Blick the next day.

When she talks about the chart topper, Manuela Frey gets excited: “I’ve met a lot of stars who are aloof or unattainable, but she’s so open and nice.” Sheeran even offered Frey to take a selfie. Of course she wanted to. Side by side, both of them laugh at this from the anteroom of the toilet.
The Aargau native was doubly lucky: She missed an Ed Sheeran concert in Zurich’s Letzigrund because tickets had long since sold out. But at an event by luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet, the Briton surprisingly appeared in an intimate setting in Zurich on Thursday. “It was great: They said we should put down the cell phones and enjoy the music. We were only allowed to film the last song.”
Frey is a big fan
For Manuela Frey, meeting Ed Sheeran came true. She has been accompanying him in his music since the age of 15. “When my heart breaks, I listen to his songs.”
On Friday and Saturday evenings, Ed Sheeran will deliver hits like “Shape of You” and “Bad Habits” at Letzigrund Stadium. Tickets have long been sold out.
