Morena’s presidential candidate, Marcelo Ebrard, pointed out that he is still registered for the 2024 elections, even if they do without the cherry bench; This was revealed during an interview with Azucena Uresti.
He said he will not be present for the time being at the party meeting at the World Trade Center, where the winner of the Morena poll for the presidential nomination will be announced, because he is “out of the process.”
This was after his representative team was denied entry to the WTC for the official counting of ballots. He also mentioned various “anomalies” within the internal process of the Juntos Haremos Historia coalition.
Ebrard definitely said outside of the internal process he also claimed that the poll that failed was Morena’s. So much so that if he wins, he’ll demand a repeat of the exercise, as it’s all about “maintaining a clean process.”
“Yes, I understand that this is your position and we were not counted anymore. They took us out and left us outside with the police. “Purely and simply, we will no longer accompany the process because they kicked us out,” he said.
Regarding his possible arrival in the citizens’ movement, he decided that there would be a meeting within his team next Monday, but it was an idea that was raised as a “final goal”: “It’s a decision that we have to wait and see .” he claimed.
“On Monday we will decide which path to take to ensure that path (the elections) is fulfilled. “It will always remain in force (the opportunity to participate in the race),” he told Uresti.
For his part, Federal Representative Emmanuel Reyes ruled that today’s results and the actions before them do not mean a break with Morena, but rather: “We will think about what comes next.”
“We’re going to see how Morena behaves, how the leadership behaves, how the census commission behaves, and well, Marcelo has called us to speak to all the compañeros and compañeras at a national assembly next Monday,” he said.
