Maria Jose Rojas makes her Australia Women’s NPL SA debut with a goal

Rojas’ debut at Flinders United in the league was sweet and sour: he scored his first goal in the competition, but his team went on to lose.

Maria Jose Rojas leaves Melbourne City after the 2022/23 season ends in the semi-finals. Her new team is Flinders United, which plays in the South Australian Women’s National Premier League. It’s a league he knows well, in a team that was formed only a short time ago.

Cote made her debut with two goals in the South Australian Women’s Cup last weekend, and this Saturday it’s her turn in the league tournament. At around 5:00 p.m., his team hosted the University of Adelaide and went down three goals to two, leaving them bottom-placed.

The rival cast was one that had the advantage during long passages of the match. On 29′, Ellie Sparrow opened the scoring and Tanay Morris extended the tally to 37. The University of Adelaide went into the intermission with a 2–0 partial victory. On 71′, meanwhile, Alanna Fitzsimmons scored her team’s third goal.

There was nothing that Maria Jose Rojas would step up and lead the efforts of Flinders United. On 73′, the Chilean striker made it 3–1, which was converted by her teammate Claudia Hewitt on 76′ to make it 3–2. Cotto’s goal was not enough, however, as his team failed to mount a comeback.

After nine dates, Flinders United are 10th and last in the Women’s NPL South Australia standings with just five points. The leaders, the Adelaide Comets, add 24 units. On Day 10 of the competition, Chilean artists will be welcomed by the main ladies on Friday, May 26 at 7:30 p.m.
