If you are from Tulancingo, you will surely have seen her walking through the streets of the city center, clearly recognizable by her elegant style, undoubted hair and probably, at some point, perhaps carrying a lance full of cups. Her name is Mariana Bravo, a citizen of Tulancingo, who ventured into the world of entrepreneurship from a very young age and has already accumulated years of experience in manufacturing and customer service.
And this is because, according to what he tells, there was a moment when his father gave him “Sunday” only if he could generate as much as he would give him in a week, then a hundred. pesos Here he awakened the mind of a merchant and began to sell sweets and gums in the middle of chewing and in the Jardín de la Floresta, his guest house. Apart from the fact that this allowed her to learn the value of money and work as a child, it also helped her to build friendships in the group of street traders.
There was no social inhibition that she developed after said habit, which encouraged her to sell cupcakes that she learned to prepare thanks to YouTube tutorials when she was a high school student on Prepa Duo. Such was the success of his sales that even once he graduated, he allowed four other students he paid to continue distributing his product on campus.
“I was doing well, at first I didn’t know how much to give them, but little by little I learned. Speaking well, I told them that if they bought one and it said ‘free’ at the bottom, I would give them another part. The moment came when it was no longer even possible to offer what they were looking for or when my case broke out”, he comments on this subject.
Then Mariana was in charge of the entire production: the purchase of inputs, preparation, arrangement, sales and also distribution for the vendors, all the students who were paid at the end of the week and were brought in on a daily basis. they understood “all the horses.” Almost ignorant of this, and due to the discipline of his manners, his own brand of sweets was born, which he named the first cake. Here, in addition to cakes, cookies, cakes, among others, it creates customer service experiences through the creation of a community in its social networks.
“It’s about establishing trust with people, because they put the responsibility of their special times on you,” he said. With more than ten years of experience, he talks about many of the clients he started in high school, which he still has, although now they order meals for weddings or birthdays, for which he prepares unusual plans. Trends, movies, series or even memes are just some of the themes that are addressed in gastronomic creations.
Now, twenty years old, he has put this business on hold because he is starting to go to the United States, where he will initially work as an “au pair”, forming cultural exchange and accommodation with North American families. But it is not the last goodbye. Mariana plans to return to Mexico with another vision to open a stable where she continues to grow her brand, which she calls “my baby”.
“They say that your job is what you want to do, even if you don’t get paid, I don’t take my finger off the line, and this is not forgotten, the project that I saw was born without knowing and people. they already rent (…). It is true that there are limitations to the work of women, but it is important to understand that if you decide to do it on your own, there will also be thousands of people who will support you, thanks to all of them” he pointed out.
