In the last 4-5 months, Maruti has launched many new cars. This trend is expected to continue in the coming days as well. The company is working on the new model of its premium hatchback Baleno, Baleno Cross. This model has been spotted during testing. Now the information related to its engine has been revealed. It is believed that it will get a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine. This new model of Baleno will be more luxurious than the current model. This model can be coupe-style based.
1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo engine will be available
, The 2023 Baleno Cross will get a 1.0-liter BoosterJet turbo engine. It will get a unit of 998cc. The engine will be BS6-compliant. This engine will be capable of generating 102hp of power and 150Nm of peak torque. For transmission, it will also be mated to a five-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox.
, Apart from this, the engine can also get mild-hybrid technology. The Baleno Cross will also get a petrol engine. This engine will be an aspirated petrol engine, which will also see the 1.2-liter DualJet or the larger 1.5-liter DualJet engine with mild-hybrid technology. This is the same engine that is used in the Ertiga and XL6.
Grille like Grand Vitara will be available
Talking about its design, the Baleno Cross is expected to be very similar to the new Grand Vitara. In this, you will get to see a split-headlamp set-up, slim LED daytime running lamp, three-block Nexa signature on the bonnet, and inset mesh design. At the same time, the new look gets raised suspension and chunky wheel arches, alloy wheels, and the roof line from front to the rear tailgate.
Auto Expo 2023 may be presented
There is no information about the price of Baleno Cross yet, but it can be brought in the market in the range of 8 lakhs. At the same time, its launch can be done by March next year and it is expected to be presented at Auto Expo 2023. In the Indian market, it is expected to compete with several premium hatchbacks and compact SUVs such as the Honda WR-V, Nissan Magnate, Renault Chiger, Citroen C3, and Tata Punch.
