The demand for sports utility vehicles in the Indian market continues to grow. People prefer this category of vehicles because of their sporty appearance, fun driving experience and better location. Maintaining this trend of customers, companies are constantly introducing new models in this segment. In this series, the country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki is also preparing to launch another new model in this segment.
While Maruti Suzuki’s Vitara Breza is already present in the entry-level SUV segment, the company’s current model S-Cross has not been able to do much in the mid-size segment. Preparations are now underway to introduce a new model in this segment, which will basically compete with models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Celtos.
This affordable 7-seater car is best for a large family, priced at just Rs 4.25 lakh and gives great mileage.
Shashank Srivastava, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, made this clear in a statement to the media. “We have very few shares in the mid-SUV segment, we have the S-Cross SUV in this segment, which was launched in August last year with a new engine,” Shashank said.
He said, “We have a few product plans in this section, but we can’t say anything about it right now. But yes, we have focused on this section and of course there are some arrangements in this section. We’ll see.” Currently no other information is available about Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming SUV.
