Maruti Suzuki was hit at home, sales fell by more than 7%

Maruti Suzuki has suffered a major setback in the domestic market in February. The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki said on Tuesday that its passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market fell by 7.4 per cent in February this year. Sales of Maruti’s passenger vehicles in the domestic market in February this year stood at 133,948 units. In February last year, the company had sold 144,761 vehicles in the domestic market.

Slight effect of shortage of electronic components on production
Total domestic sales (including passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles) stood at 137,607 units in February this year. It was 147,483 units in February last year. The scarcity of electronic components in the production of vehicles sold in the domestic market had a very small effect. The company took every possible step to reduce this effect. This is stated in a report of Economic Times. The company sold 19,691 Alto and S-Presso vehicles in February 2022. While 23,959 Alto and S-Presso were sold in February last year.

A sharp rise in sales of ciaz
Maruti Suzuki has sold 77,795 vehicles in the compact segment in February this year. In February last year, the company had sold 80,517 vehicles in the compact segment. The company has sold 1,912 Ciaz vehicles in February 2022. The company had sold 1,510 Ciaz vehicles in February last year. In the utility vehicles segment, the company sold 25,360 vehicles in this segment in February this year. While 26,884 vehicles of this segment were sold in February last year. The company has sold 9,190 Eeco vehicles in February this year. The company had sold 11,891 eco-cars in February last year.
