Marvel announces the return of young heroes

New adventures will take over the Marvel Universe and some young heroes will now have the chance to shine.

Marvel fans are in luck because an exciting new comic miniseries has been announced featuring some amazing heroes. This series, titled Power Pack: Into the Storm, reunites the series’ original creators, Louise Simonson and June Brigman, in a new adventure that promises to delight readers of all ages.

The Power Pack team, consisting of superhero siblings Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie Power, has been a beloved fixture in the Marvel Universe since their debut in 1984. Now they return in a new five-issue series that is sure to capture the imagination of old and new fans alike.

At the heart of the series is an exciting question: Should the Power Packs tell their parents about their powers?

This question presents Marvel’s young heroes with an exciting dilemma because they want to use their abilities to protect the world, but their parents are unaware of their identity as superheroes.

The plot thickens even further when his friend Franklin Richards has a premonition of a rapidly approaching galactic threat. The Power Brothers will be forced to make difficult decisions and face challenges that will test their courage and determination. The series promises to explore themes of responsibility, sacrifice and the power of family.

Louise Simonson, one of the creative minds behind the original Power Packs, shares her excitement about working on these characters again. “It’s funny how easy it is to go back to Power Pack! This story explores the looming question: Should Power Pack tell his parents about his powers? I loved pointing out Franklin’s burgeoning abilities, blocked by his parents but too powerful for even them to fully master… I loved introducing a pair of Snark. Princesses, good and tragic, and delve a little deeper into snark culture. And I loved writing “Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie” again. Adding to the fun was X-Man Storm, who shares this adventure. And of course June Brigman’s art is striking and charming.”

June Brigman, the artist behind the original series, will join Simonson on this new adventure. Brigman expressed his excitement: “I always love playing with children. I hope everyone enjoys reading this amazing story as much as I loved drawing it!”

While the Power Packs have yet to make their debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, MCU President Kevin Feige has expressed interest in bringing them to the big screen at some point. The Power Pack: Into the Storm comic series will certainly keep the hope alive that these young heroes can one day make their way into live action.

The first issue of Power Pack: Into the Storm will be available in comic shops starting January 24, 2024.
