Match Day: EPL . Brighton at Palace after an impressive start to

Here’s a look at what’s happening in European football on Monday:

Brighton and Crystal Palace are more than 40 miles (64 kilometers) apart, but have been enemies for decades. Brighton made a surprise trip to South London with 12 points out of a possible 15 in the Premier League so far. Palace have only five points from five matches at the start of Patrick Vieira’s reign as Roy Hodgson’s successor. With France the World Cup-winning midfielder is in the process of making Palace more rights-based, which was also the case for Graham Potter when he took charge of Brighton two years ago. The game marks the long-awaited return of Tariq Lumpty to Premier League action. The right back played half of the midweek League Cup win at Swansea, who had been sidelined since December after suffering a hamstring injury.

Granada are looking to end their winning streak in the Spanish league when Celta visit Vigo. Grenada have lost three of their first six matches and have drawn three. Celta Vigo ended their winning streak in the last round. Celta have lost their last four league matches at home, and have not lost five in a row since six consecutive home losses in 1986. Both teams are at the bottom of the standings.

Torino coach Ivan Zurich has turned things around after a poor start to the season and will look to continue the recovery in struggling Venezia. After losing their opening two matches, Torino rallied and won two in a row. This would have made it a hat-trick of wins, but their 1-1 draw to Lazio ended in a last-gap equalizer midweek. Venezia have lost four of their five matches in their first season in Serie A since 2002.
