Matthew Wright embarrassed after being caught yelling at his family on This Morning

Matthew Wright was pawned on Tuesday after being caught shouting at his family’s Live This Morning.

The TV star, 56, was joined by hosts Philip Scofield and Rochelle Humes and royal reporter Camilla Tomini to discuss the day’s big topics, with Matthews participating in the segment from home.

But the former The Right Stuff host was soon left red-faced as his camera mic picked him up yelling at someone in his house, with the star remarking that he was ‘very embarrassed’ after being caught.

As Camilla discussed the latest in the Prince Andrew/Jeffrey Epstein scandal, a voice was heard: ‘Upstairs please’, Camilla ignored the comment as she assumed it to be a member of the backstage crew.

However, Philip and Rochelle, who were also in the studio, began to laugh as they saw what had happened, with Philip unable to resist biting Matthew at his shout.

Turning to Matthew, Philip quipped in a light-hearted manner: ‘We’ve got Matthew there, who just ended up yelling at his family for being quiet’, Rochelle added: ‘Yeah, we caught you .’

Matthew then started laughing nervously and held his head in his hands before remarking that he was ‘much more than a screaming, screaming parent.’

To which the hosts replied: ‘We heard that, we got it!’

Sympathetic to Matthew, Camilla assures him: ‘We’ve all been there!’

With Matthew adding: ‘Bless you, I’ll go back to yelling at the baby. I am ashamed!’

Matthews later highlighted the situation on Twitter as he wrote: ‘Busted on national TV to be a screaming parent. There is no big stone… @this morning.’

The TV star shares two-year-old daughter Cassidy with wife Amelia. They welcomed their daughter in January 2019 after trying for eight years and enduring six failed IVF attempts and a life-threatening ectopic pregnancy.

Matthew’s mistake on This Morning came shortly after Philippe confirmed that his co-host Holly Willoughby would be missing from the show for two weeks.

During Monday’s show, Philip was quick to explain that 40-year-old Holly would be absent while she filmed Wim ‘Iceman’ Hoff’s Superstar Survival with Lee Mack.

Rochelle, 32, explained: ‘I’m here to hang out and keep my seat warm’ as Philippe, 59, revealed Saturday’s star will be filled with Holi for an entire fortnight.

Today’s schedule is too busy for you. Rochelle is here, as you can see, keeping Holly’s seat warm,’ Philip explained.

‘He’s off with the snowman. She’s doing a show away at the moment. That’s off for two weeks,’ he said.

Although Holly won’t be back on the couch on This Morning until February, she will fly from Southern Europe—where Superstar Survival is filmed—every weekend to present Dancing on Ice with Philippe.

It continues from 10am on weekdays on ITV in the morning.
