Oliver Calvo is the new high school coach and his mission is clear. “What a team. You know I want to have 11 or more than 11 if I can. I want to have a team that knows how to play together,” Calvo said.
The Readings School Board appointed Calvo on April 26 and 69 Deportes with Calvo in his first job as head coach.
The bald spot is held by Mike Cahn who has held the coaching position for nearly 20 years. Cahn withdrew, but Oliver will help in any way he can. “We both care about the program and I’m very excited for Oliver’s job. I know he’s going to do a great job,” Cahn said.
Calvo has no experience as the head coach of the club. However, he helped the coaches on different occasions. “I trained a lot of kids in Philadelphia, also in New Jersey. In my club, FC Revolution also here in Reading, the president Mike Moore also gave me parts and told me to train them.”
and he also helped Cahn. “When I came here to help coach Cahn, he gave me practice. He told me, ‘You take it and we’ll do whatever you want,'” Calvo said.
Reading High School did not have its best season the following year. Calvo is expected to change the results for the new season. “Because in previous years there were many people who know how to play but not together. Reading has the talent that we need to work together,” Calvo said.

He also wore a bald head at Jersey High School when Cahn was the coach. “In my opinion, Oliver is the best I’ve seen play in high school. He was just an amazing player,” Cahn said.
Calvo was also used to soccer after Reading High School. “I played with the Philadelphia Union in the Academy and with them they helped me to get to Louisville, the University of Louisville, and here I played with the Philadelphia Fury and with them I went to Spain to play in Sweden and from there I came back and I was in many local leagues.”
