In his complaint, Choksi said, “I was friends with Barbara Jabarika since last one year. Earlier she used to live opposite my house in Jolly Harbor but later shifted to Coco Way Hotel. He claimed, “Then they put me on a wheelchair, when I was almost unconscious. He grabbed my hands and feet and tied me to a wheelchair, at that time I was not in a position to defend myself. I had a gag (putting a piece of cloth in someone’s mouth to stop someone from speaking) in my mouth, due to which I could not even breathe properly and gasped. They were beating me continuously, they covered my face with a mask so that I could not even see them.”

Case against Choksi and his alleged abduction

He went missing from Antigua on 23 May, having been captured in Dominica. Dominica police have accused him of illegally entering the country. He has alleged that he fled to Antigua and Barbuda to avoid extradition to India.
