Germany’s leading luxury vehicle manufacturer Mercedes Benz today launched its new ‘Made-in-India’ S-Class in the Indian market. The sedan has been manufactured at the company’s plant in Chakan, Pune and is completely manufactured in India. Adorned with an attractive look and strong engine, the starting price of this car has been fixed at Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom, India).
Earlier, the company used to bring the S-Class sedan to India through the Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Due to which the price of this car was very high, due to high import duty on this car at that time its price was Rs 2.17 crore. Now due to being made in India, the price of this car has seen a huge cut.
Mercedes Benz claims that more than 8,250 units of the S-Class have been sold in India. The CBU unit of the S-Class was well received by the customers, which is why the company has now launched the Made-in-India version of this car here. The company hopes that this new car will also get the same response from the customers.
Let us tell you that the company has introduced the new S-Class in a total of two variants. The price of its entry level variant S 350 d has been fixed at Rs 1.57 crore. On the other hand, customers will have to pay Rs 1.62 crore for the S 450 4MATIC variant. With the launch of this new car, the company is producing a total of 13 cars at its Chakan plant.
