Mexico recorded 21,978 infections and 281 deaths from COVID-19 last week

The federal agency reported that for the fifth consecutive week, the COVID-19 pandemic in the country continued to decline, going from an average of 3,011 confirmed cases per day in epidemiological week four, which ran from January 22 to 28. , 1,771 in the fifth, from January 29 to February 4.

The Ministry of Health announced through a weekly technical report that hospitalizations of normal beds for COVID-19 care decreased from six percent to five percent, while the number of beds with mechanical ventilators remained at two percent.


The agency reported that in epidemiological week five of 2023, a daily average of one death from the SARS-CoV-2 virus was recorded, compared to nine per day in the previous week.
