Mexico tied two against Australia in a friendly

The Mexican National Team returned to the event on this FIFA date in the month of September, so they faced the Australian team in the city of Arlington, Texas and tied with two goals. Australians Harry Souttar and Martin Boyle scored for the Socceroos, while Raúl Jiménez and César Huerta scored for the Tricolor.

In the first minutes, the team led by Jaime Lozano controlled the ball but it was not shown on the field of play due to the shortcomings of the national attackers. In the 15th minute, defender Harry Souttar looked forward to his score and with a strong cross shot made the game 1-0.

After the score, the Mexican squad advanced in their lines to find the equalizing goal but they were unable to score it and the half-time was at a disadvantage. In the second half, Souttar himself touched the ball with his hand inside the area and the whistler scored a penalty.

That’s when Santiago Giménez took the ball and kicked with great power but unfortunately for him the ball bounced off the post and Mexico was left with no chance to equalize. In the 60′ Luis Romo knocked down Riley McGree inside the area and the referee scored the maximum penalty; Later, Martin Boyle tricked Guillermo Ochoa to make it 2-0.

Despite conceding the second goal, Tricolor did not lose concentration and their reward came in the 67th minute, when Uriel Antuna fell inside the area and the referee gave a penalty again. This time, the attacker Raúl Jiménez took advantage of the opportunity and a good shot to make it 2-1.

Just when it looked like the Socceroos would take the win, defender Harry Souttar made a terrible mistake in the lower zone. It was then that César Huerta took advantage of the situation and with a powerful shot the Pumas player hit the round in the upper left corner to make it 2-2.

In this way, technical director Jaime Lozano began his process as the official coach of the Mexican National Team and will now look for a positive result in the second duel of the FIFA date. It is worth mentioning that on Tuesday, September 12, the national team will face Uzbekistan in a friendly duel.
