SAN CRISTOBAL.- The Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, began construction work on two community sports centers, in Los Cantines, in the municipality of Hatillo, and Los Bajos de Haina, both in the province of San Cristóbal.
The works are part of a program of construction and repair of national sports facilities undertaken by President Luis Abinander.
During the ceremony, Minister Camacho insisted that he had orders from President Abinader to return the sport to the neighborhood and dignify the facilities so that the youth could do their exercises in complete freedom and safety, and thus a promising future for them. “We can say with certainty that this province of San Cristóbal has undergone a sporting transformation at the hands of President Luis Abinder. The works at a cost of RD$46,560,518 have been added to another eight finished sports facilities, seven are in progress and have been tendered by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in the province for approximately RD$107 million.
In the communities of Los Cantines and Los Bajos de Hana, two separate community sports centers will be built that will include basketball, volleyball and other indoor sports courts, two bleachers, public bathrooms, a multipurpose room, metal structures, equipment, general . Lighting, conditioning of the main access areas and painting of its exterior and interior walls.
