A video of Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai is making a splash on the internet. It was posted by Yousafzai’s friend V and both are shown in graduation garb. In the video, V talks about the opposite personalities of both the friends, which has created a strong bond between them.
“POV: There are two kinds of best friends and bachelors in this world. V: giggly and chaotic. Malala: focused and steady,” says the text inserted as supers in a video uploaded a week ago.
While V is seen laughing as he poses for the video, Ms Yousafzai’s expressions are calm.
The location of the video is mentioned as Oxford University, from where Wei and Ms Yousafzai both graduated last year.
Vee, a girls’ education advocate, author and empowerment coach, said in the accompanying post, “You haven’t seen your best friend in 2 months because you’re both traveling the world and she’s working. the one you love and that’s how you are now revisiting all your lovely memories because facetime/text just not working.”
The video has been viewed more than 43 lakh times so far.
Malala Yousafzai graduated in philosophy, politics and economics from Oxford University in November 2021, nine years after she was shot by the Taliban for campaigning for girls’ education in her homeland Pakistan.
He shared the pictures of his graduation ceremony on his official Instagram handle. In the pictures, she was seen posing with her proud parents and husband Asar Malik, in her cap and gown at the university.
Ms Yousafzai married Mr Malik, a manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board, in a low-key ceremony in Birmingham on 9 November 2021. In a tweet, he then wrote, “We celebrated a small nikah ceremony at our home in Birmingham. Family.”
She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 when she was 17 years old with India’s Kailash Satyarthi.
