Padang (ANTARA) – Ade Rezki, a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives of the Gerindra faction in West Sumatra 2 electoral district, called on police to take action against the manager of a dangerous cosmetic warehouse found in Agam Regency, West Sumatra.
He said in Padang on Saturday, “There are still many cases related to drugs and food, some people think it is normal, but in reality it is dangerous, because there are still warehouses of dangerous drugs and their products spread in the market. Has happened.”
He said that the DPR RI intervened in all areas by providing comprehensive information to the public, as well as giving suggestions for legal action to the authorities.
“In addition to information communication and education (KIE) to residents, of course, law enforcement action needs to be taken to bring order, we have received information from police and BPOM that most of these dangerous drugs, supplements, cosmetics come from overseas. are,” he explained.
According to him, illegal and dangerous products enter through fish ports from mainland Riau for marketing throughout Sumatra.
“For this reason, we ask residents, in collaboration with BPOM, to provide information that if there is a suspicion of a movement of goods already in the market, it will systematically endanger health,” he said.
The head of the BBPOM in Padang, represented by Lega Fatma, said that the head of the BPOM, Loka Pyakumbuh Iswandi, said that strict monitoring of drugs and food and cosmetics should cooperate with the community as direct consumers.
“There are several problems, namely that we still find trends among people that are all immediate, and there is less concern for the safety of the products used,” he said.
He said that many products are considered good by the public simply because of the appearance of the packaging regardless of the ingredients.
“It is like persuasion of packaged advertisements to be consumed, but when consumed it will cause harm to the body, most of the victims are usually teenagers who easily buy the product,” he said.
Apart from taking action against products that violate BPOM regulations, it also conducts research in verified and accredited laboratories abroad.
“Our joint task is to socialize, we hope that when we discover that medicines, processed foods, traditional medicines, health supplements and cosmetics are inappropriate, we report them immediately so that their prevalence does not expand. And do not harm the local residents.” Told.
