Splinterlands, a next-generation collectible play-to-earn card game platform that fuses NFTs, has activated its much-anticipated “Chaos Legion” card pack general sale.

Over six million card packs sold in less than 24 hours

According to a press release on January 18, less than 24 hours after the announcement, more than six million of the 15 million card packs have already been sold. With this, Splinterlands CEO Jesse Reich revealed that they generated more revenue than the cumulative amount for the past three years.

“Splinterlands is thrilled with the progress of the game. In one night, we generated more revenue in 2018, 2019 and 2020 combined. We are growing like crazy. We are adding new players and new money, giving us more of the business Allows to hire creatives and developers. It is fully living the crypto dream.”

Following this massive reception from the community, Splinterlands has revealed that it has already circulated over six new cards. The platform will circulate one new card pack for every million packs sold.

airdrop

Prior to this general sale, users received their cards using credits swapped for Dark Energy Crystals (DECs) or Splinterlands’ native token, SPS.

While there will be an airdrop to ensure fair delivery, users participating in the pre-sale may receive rare airdropped cards. Participants in the pre-sale purchased their card pack for $4 or 4k credit in the voucher system. SPS Stackers received vouchers as a way of qualifying for pre-sales through an ongoing airdrop or by purchasing them from Hive Engines.

In addition, during this release, some cards will also move to Gold Foil versions having higher collection power, level, and value than regular cards.

The Chaos Legion library of cards will be present on a transparent blockchain. They will be mixed to include cards of various rarities from Common to Legendary containing over 64 elements and more than seven elements known as Splinters of Fire, Earth, Water, Life, Death, Dragon and Neutral.

The rise of blockchain gaming

The high demand for Splinterlands’ “Chaos Legion” packs can be pinned to the growing popularity of blockchain gaming and NFTs. More game developers in the US and UK are increasingly integrating NFTs, explaining why there are more user active wallets associated with blockchain games with the play-to-earn model.

As BTC Manager Reportedly, blockchain gaming and NFTs flipped DeFi to dominate crypto activities. Plus, more users were eager to explore the world of non-fungible tokens reading by the number of organic searches according to Google Trends.
