Morena’s parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies is outlined a cut of 4 billion pesos to the INE budget for 2024, reduced the 3.5 billion expected for a popular consultation and 400 million for the construction of two buildings, among other things.
In an interview with MILLENNIUM, The coordinator of the Morenista bench, Ignacio Mier, emphasized that his party has already made the decision to include his proposal in his electoral platform to reform the Judiciary, thus avoiding a popular consultation.
“Offering the Mexicans to vote for us in favor of a reform of the Judiciary, to be registered in the electoral platform, the consultation that I announced is no longer necessary, and then 3.5 billion will be released there in pesos,” said Mier.
Mier’s statements were given before the meeting this afternoon holds the Presidential Counselor of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei with the Political Coordination Board of the San Lázaro Palace
He explained that, in addition, INE requested 400 million pesos for the construction of the two buildings.
However, Mier said, “now They can wait there is no urgent need to build two buildings, especially since, according to the implementation periods that the same project includes, They won’t be finished next year“.
The parliamentary leader of Morena also mentioned other concepts which, added to the previous ones, generate savings close to 4 billion pesos.
INE presented the budget project a total of 37 thousand 770 million pesos for 2024, considering the base budget, institutional portfolio, precautionary budget and financing for political parties.
Mier announced that after September 16, a meeting could also be agreed with the presiding magistrate of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF), Reyes RodrÃguez, for the budget issue while maintaining communication with the Judiciary for a possible meeting with the president of the minister Norma Pina.
