Most of Poland’s pandemic advisers resign over government support

Morawiecki’s office responded by saying that the government had to take into account the various differing opinions coming from businessmen, teachers and others in its decisions. It said the advisory body’s formula would be changed, but did not provide any details.

In response to increased infections caused by Omicron, Poland’s government has banned access to indoor public areas, but avoided lockdowns or outdoor mask mandates.

Poland has recorded more than 100,000 virus-related deaths, and less than 60% of its 38 million population have been vaccinated.

The council advises the government on action and legislation to fight the pandemic.
