The customer service center model is based on the Metropolitan Transport Authority’s (MTA) and Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) announcement of an enhanced station agent role, in which station agents support customer needs through off-site work.

As part of the increased work, customer service centers will be staffed by station agents and located in the physical premises of metro stations.
