new Delhi: After a long legal battle, finally the process of sending mafia Mukhtar Ansari to UP has been expedited. The Punjab government has finalized the deadline to send Mukhtar to UP by writing a letter to UP. The Punjab government will hand over Mukhtar to UP from the planting prison itself.
Mukhtar Ansari, who has been lodged in Punjab’s Ropar Jail for a long time, is being brought back to Uttar Pradesh following the Supreme Court’s directive. After all the efforts of the Punjab government, Mukhtar Ansari’s attempt failed. The Punjab Government letter has been received to Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi. The letter mentions that Mukhtar Ansari should handover the Uttar Pradesh government before April 8. Punjab government has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh government regarding transfer of custody of Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari from Mau.
Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari will be kept in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda Jail. Security arrangements have been tightened there too. Two police outposts have been set up outside Banda Jail, where the battalion of PAC has been deployed. Additional Chief Secretary Home of the Government of Punjab has written a letter to Additional Chief Secretary Home of Uttar Pradesh, Avnish Kumar Awasthi. In which Mukhtar Ansari is instructed to take the handover before April 8. Mukhtar Ansari, who is lodged in Rupnagar Jail in Ropar District of Punjab, will be handed over to Uttar Pradesh Police from April 8 onwards. After being shifted to Banda jail, Mukhtar Ansari will appear in the Punjab case on April 12 through video conferencing.
