Deepak Dubey, Mumbai: The impact of the second wave of Corona is rapidly diminishing in Mumbai. The situation is that two to three times more people are getting cured than the new patients are recorded every day. The process of rapid recovery of patients has also continued on Tuesday.
According to BMC, 1,717 new cases of the disease have been reported in 24 hours, while 6,082 people have been discharged nearly three times from the new cases. On Monday too, 3,580 people were cured, while only 1,794 new cases were reported. In the last one week, 18,566 new cases of Corona have been registered, while 28,221 people have been discharged.
Between May 5 and May 11, 9,655 more people have been sent home from hospitals than in new cases, so the problem of beds in hospitals is over. Once again beds are being emptied in private and government hospitals.
Growth rate also reduced
The second wave of corona caused the infection to increase rapidly in April and the growth rate had reached close to 1 percent. Now it has come down to 0.39 percent. The doubling rate has also risen to around 170 days due to the decrease in the number of patients. In some premises, the dabbling rate has exceeded 250 days. The dabbling rate had risen to around 40 days as the number of patients increased in late March and early April. The government’s timely ban has begun to yield good results.
Along with Mumbai, corona cases are slowly coming down in the state as well. According to the Department of Health, on May 11, 40,956 new cases have been filed in the state and 71,966 people have been cured. Maharashtra’s corona recovery rate has been reduced to 87.67 percent.
