The first meeting of the Health Reform Subcommittee was held with the participation of its 23 members. There, the representatives stipulated that five national dialogue tables will take place between next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with all actors and unions in the system in order to agree on the topics proposed in the reform text.
“They have to do with surveillance and control inspection, the functions of health managers, the distribution of system resources, the role of primary care centers and the strengthening of hospitals,” explained Alfredo Mondragón, representative of the Historical Pact and rapporteur-coordinator of the Pact Reform.
The Commission will then meet with the representatives appointed as members on Wednesday afternoon and all day on Thursday “to agree on the Commission’s report and to clarify the agreements and disagreements and to present to the plenary a proposal for the organization of the debate.” Meeting the chamber.”
However, the subcommittee reported that, if necessary, it would ask the Chamber’s Executive Board to extend the deadline set for agreement on the text of the reform.
“There are several members of Congress who are asking President Calle to extend the time for submitting the report for at least another week because of the importance of the work to be carried out,” said the representative of the Democratic Center. Andres Forero.
This request would be made because the Executive Board of the House of Representatives, in the resolution establishing the subcommittee, had set a maximum deadline of ten days for the submission of the subcommittee’s report to the plenary session.
