In order to increase awareness and knowledge of the cause of this health problem, and at the same time to promote actions to prevent and promote healthy lifestyles in the population, every March 4 marks the World Day to Fight Obesity.
The disease is chronic and at the same time constitutes a risk factor for the development of other diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, certain types of cancer, cardiovascular conditions, depression and anxiety, among others. It occurs gradually when a person accumulates an excessive amount of body fat which can be more prone to health problems.
In the country of overweight and pain it affects 58% of adults and 34.6% of children and adolescents. In other words, 6 out of 10 adults and 1 out of 3 children and adolescents have this health condition, according to data from the First National Survey of Risk Factors conducted by the Noncommunicable Diseases and Inspection System, Food and Nutrition (Sisvan -INAN), Ministry of Public Health. Unfortunately, around 2,600 deaths a year are attributed to obesity.
With this mission, the Directorate of Noncommunicable Diseases encourages people to improve their behavior in order to avoid old age and obesity and associated complications, and at the same time to help family members and friends to collaborate in promoting a healthy lifestyle. A movement to change attitudes for a healthy future is the national motto.
They pointed out that the Ministry of Health has 17 clinics for the management of a large scale, located in different regions. Four of these are exclusively for the care of the child and the young.
They explain that the purpose of these clinics is to provide comprehensive treatment to the patient, under the evaluation of medical professionals, nutritionists and psychologists; and the prescription and control of physical activity and exercises that provide overall assistance in achieving a healthy weight. It should be noted that care at each of these centers is completely free.

They teach that it is essential to have a healthy lifestyle, for this it is important to modify certain habits and to persist in them.
They recommend consuming 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day of different colors, preferably whole fruits and vegetables, if possible, in their raw form to better absorb nutrients. Drink 8 to 10 drinks of water per day to increase weight. Opt for those who diligently observe this recommendation to naturally flavor the water with slices of fruit.
They recommend reducing the consumption of sugary drinks, such as soft drinks, fruit juices and energy drinks, to get at least 60 minutes of moderate physical activity continuously or divided into six sessions of 10 minutes a day. “All these movements.” Also, limit time spent in front of screens (TV, computers, phones, tablets, video games).

Likewise, they recommend limiting the consumption of fast foods, fried foods, sausages and foods with a high salt and saturated fat content; They eat slowly and calmly whenever possible.
An important point is also to rest between seven and eight hours at night and try not to look at screens until one hour before bed.
