At the end of September, the Düsseldorf regional court was dealing with a delicate matter. A district savings bank is suing an insurance company for reimbursement of approximately one million euros that was stolen during a burglary. However, the insurance company is quite skeptical about this representation.
Nearly a million euros have disappeared from the vault of a branch of the Düsseldorfer Kreisparkas. This stems from a legal dispute pending in the Düsseldorf district court, which has been pointed out by the court. The District Savings Bank wants their insurance company to reimburse them for the missing amount, but they refuse. The matter will be presented in the court on September 29. This is approximately 934,000 euros.
The money is said to have been delivered by a value transporter in Erkarath on June 26, 2019. After a few hours it was gone. While the District Savings Bank argues that it was a burglary and has similar marks, the respondent insurance company denies this. The question whether the amount should be reimbursed depends on it.
When asked by the DPA, the District Savings Bank did not want to comment on the matter. It is an “ongoing process”. Respondent Provincial Insurance also noted a pending legal dispute.
A spokesman for the Wuppertal Public Prosecutor said three suspects had been investigated for a particularly serious theft. The search was done and the data from the mobile phone was evaluated. However, the suspicion was not confirmed. One of the suspects also had an alibi. The investigation against the suspects was eventually dropped. Police in Mettmann confirmed that there was an operation at the time, but there was no press release.
