The trailer of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha was released on May 29 during the IPL finale. The film is all set to release in theaters on August 11 and is the official Hindi adaptation of the 1994 hit Hollywood film Forrest Gump. Tom Hanks and Robin Wright starred in the lead roles.
The trailer traces the protagonist’s journey from being a disabled child to getting selected in the Indian Army. In the trailer, Khan says, “Meri mommy kethi thi life is like golgappe, even if the stomach is full, the mind does not fill.” Soon after the release of the trailer, netizens demanded a boycott of Aamir Khan’s upcoming film.
One user wrote, “His next film is coming. Acting as mentally handicapped in army uniform. Lots of jokes on army too. Hope people will boycott this mess. Don’t know how he got approval from IA to use uniforms, badges and make such films.

The film is directed by Advait Chandan and written by Atul Kulkarni and Eric Roth. Kareena will play Aamir’s girlfriend in the film. It also stars Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles.
Laal Singh will show Chaddha Khan in different ages and looks. The film will reportedly also see a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. Naga Chaitanya will debut in Bollywood with this film.
