Minister of Public Health, Federico Mangione, announced a new plan for health professionals joining the provincial health system; Which would depend on certain health sectors rather than being assigned to a hospital or health centre. In this way, the healthcare offering can be customized according to the needs of different equipment and emergencies.
“We noticed that some hospitals a few kilometers away in one municipality had more than twice the number of professionals than others,” Mangione said, stressing that the new plan would not only improve access to health services by the population. Access will benefit, but it will also benefit the professionals involved.
Surveys, Statistics and Telemedicine
The minister also indicated that there is a survey according to the number of residents in the health areas to specify the availability of specialists as per the recommendations of the World Health Organisation.
“The objective is to deal with statistics, with numbers and with the criteria of ‘evidence-based medicine’, that is to say, taking into account the geography, culture and resources that characterize each sector or operational area”, Federico Mangione Said and he said that the practice of telemedicine will also be emphasized.
He informed that for this purpose, extensive linkages with all hospitals and health centers across the province are being requested, so that medical aid can be delivered to the most remote places on the basis of technology.
