Japanese automaker Toyota has today launched a new facelift Legender variant of its famous premium SUV Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market. The company has introduced the new Legender variant in a sporty style. Adorned with four wheel drive (4×4) technology with attractive looks and strong engine capacity, the starting price of this SUV has been fixed at Rs 42.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
It costs Rs 3.72 lakh more than the standard two-wheel (4×2) drive variant. The on-road price of this SUV has gone up to around Rs 50 lakh in some cities of the country. The biggest change in this SUV is being seen in the form of its four-wheel drive system. Till now the Legender variant was only available with two-wheel drive technology.
Badging has been done on the tailgate for Toyota’s four-wheel drive system and other exteriors remain the same as the 4×2. The cabin is also almost the same as the two-wheel drive variant. The biggest change in this has been given to JBL’s 11-speaker and audio system. Apart from this, features like 18-inch alloys, quad-LED headlamps, turn indicators, powered tailgate with hands free opening, 8.0-inch touchscreen, connected car tech, wireless phone charger have been provided.
As far as safety is concerned, it has been given features like 7 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Hill Start Assist and Traction Control. In this, the company has given a turbo-diesel engine of 2.8 liters capacity which generates power of 204hp and torque of 500Nm. This engine comes with a 6 speed automatic gearbox.
