Mahindra is going to launch 13 new cars, 8 of which will be electric models only These models are expected to be launched by 2027. Electric vehicles will include vehicles like the eKUV100 and XUV700. The new name Mahindra XUV400 has been added to this list. According to a report by Autocar India, Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director, Auto and Farm Sector, Mahindra Group, said that the company could use the XUV400 name for the electronic version of the XUV300. But so far it is not final.
Earlier it was said that a medium sized SUV called Mahindra XUV400 could be brought, which would be placed between XUV300 and XUV500. The S204’s codename, the mid-size SUV, was planned to be built on Ford’s B-Platform to compete with the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. But now that the partnership between Ford and Mahindra has ended, the name XUV400 is expected to be used for the eXUV300.

A glimpse was seen at the Auto Expo
Let us know that the company presented a glimpse of the electric version of Mahindra XUV300 at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is the first model based on the Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA) platform. It can be brought in two variants – 350V and 380V. The lower-spec model will compete with the Nexon EV, while the higher-specific variant will compete with the likes of the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV.

The electric XUV300 will be the first product to use the battery cell, made exclusively by LG Chem. In appearance, this car may look like the concept model shown at the Auto Expo. It will have closed front grille, different styles of bumpers and new alloy wheels. The new Mahindra XUV400 electric version was to be launched by 2023; However, due to the lack of chips, the launch may be delayed until 2024.
