New Round of Subpoenas for Trump Allies in War Room Reportedly Coming Soon

A special House commission investigating the January 6 uprising is preparing to summon a new round of Donald Trump “lieutenants” suspected of plotting to overturn presidential election results in a “war room” in downtown Washington, DC, at a hotel. The source told The Guardian.

According to the source, the summons may be drawn up as early as next week.

The existence of a military-style command center was revealed in a series of Washington Post investigations last month.

Those involved, according to the Post, included Trump’s then personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, former White House strategist Steve Bannon, and right-wing attorney John Eastman, author of the infamous coup memoranda that outlined ways to usurp then-Vice President Mike Pence. Joe Biden’s presidential victory.

Eastman is among the victims, according to a newspaper source.

Eastman laid out his ideas for scrapping the election results at a January 4 White House meeting with Trump, Pence and Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, The Post reported.

Trump then reportedly subsequently used Eastman’s information to ruthlessly pressure Pence to challenge Biden’s popular vote. Pence didn’t obey.

The subpoenas will reportedly ask for testimony and documents about what advice Trump was given at the time and whether he knew in advance of the siege of the Capitol.
