A new bill would raise health care worker wages to at least $25 an hour over the next decade. Around 455,000 employees who work in hospitals, dialysis clinics and other facilities will benefit from the wage increase, but not doctors and nursing staff.

Under the proposed law, minimum wages vary depending on the clinic: salaries for employees of large health centers and dialysis clinics will be a minimum wage of $23 per hour next year. Meanwhile, his salary is expected to gradually increase to $25 an hour by 2026.
On the other hand, workers employed in rural hospitals with high volumes of Medicaid-insured patients will receive a minimum wage of $18 an hour next year, with an annual increase of 3.5% until the wage reaches $25 in 2033 -dollars per hour reached.
The minimum wage for community clinic workers will rise to $21 an hour next year and $25 an hour in 2027. For employees at all other covered health care facilities, the minimum wage will increase to $21 an hour next year before reaching $25 an hour by 2028.
When will the proposal be approved?
The bill must be passed by the California Legislature and then signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Since the bills have already been endorsed by unions and health industry associations, they are expected to be passed this week or soon.
Proposal to increase wages for fast food workers
Another bill next year could raise wages for California’s more than 500,000 fast-food workers and end disputes between unions and restaurants.
Proposed changes to House Bill 1228 would increase wages to $20 an hour for workers at fast food restaurants with at least 60 locations nationwide.
As in the previous case, this must soon be approved by the state legislature and then signed into law by the state’s governor, Gavin Newsom.
