  • Google may have hinted at an even more premium Pixel phone.
  • The reference to this phone was spotted in the code related to Pixel 7 series.
  • It is also rumored that Google is working on its first foldable Pixel phone.

Google Pixel 7 series is coming later this year. Earlier this year at Google IO, the company revealed their launch date alongside the next flagship phones, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, and the Pixel 6a. However, a new report suggests that it is not just those two phones. Google may be working on two more phones and one of them is likely to be a high-end phone. It is being speculated that this could be the upcoming flagship phone of Google. Maybe a foldable pixel? Maybe Google Pixel 7 Pro Max?

As reported by 9to5Google, two new code names were found in publicly available Android Open Source Project (AOSP) code for the display specifications of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. These are feline names — Felix and Lynx — and they are not associated with the upcoming Pixel 7 series. The report says that one of these is related to the Pixel 7a, which is likely to arrive next year, but the other could be a high-end phone from Google. While there is speculation that it could be a foldable Pixel phone, some believe that it could be a more powerful version of the Pixel 7 Pro. Just to give it a name, we can call it Pixel 7 Pro Max, maybe.

The folks at 9to5Google found mentions of “C10” and “P10” in the code, and they were easily identified as a reference to “Cheetah” and “Panther”, which are the names of the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7. But there was a third. Reference, “G10,” and it could mean that Google is working on support for an entirely different display. It could be the foldable display that, according to many rumours, will power Google’s first foldable phone.

As per the report, this recently spotted G10 device “must be” powered by a Tensor chip as there are references to Exynos processors. It will run on Android, but will be optimized for foldable phones. References to the G10 also hint at a 120Hz display, which means it’s not a Pixel A-series phone. The resolution of the display is said to be 1440×3120 pixels, which can work for a foldable display if not a high-end phone. Additionally, it has also been revealed that the display of the G10 will be made by BOE – a Chinese display maker that occasionally supplies display components to Apple.

However, whatever information is available about the G10, it is not enough. It could be the display of a high-end phone or a foldable phone in the Pixel lineup that Google has managed to hide so far. We may know more about this mysterious phone and its display in the coming days.
