NFL fans worry about Justin Fields after Bears’ off-season so far

New Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles was repairing the mess left behind by former GM Ryan Pace, which includes getting younger and getting rid of some bad contracts.

But for Poland’s promise to build around full-back Justin Fields, he did not really live up to it this off-season. Chicago has wide receivers Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown and the attacking linemen Lucas Patrick and Dakota Dozier signed.

Those moves, though some clever and calculated, are not exactly screaming to go all in on your hopeful franchise quarterback.

Following Fields’ tough rookie season, which had a lot to do with his supporting cast and his former head coach, there are now concerns that Fields could face similar tough conditions in Year 2.

Sure, the Bears still have the NFL concept and what’s left of free agency, where there are not many options. But Chicago has just six draft picks and urgent needs across the list, from offense to defense.

Clearly, Poland still has a lot of work to do to surround Fields with the talent – both weapons and protection up front – to ensure its success in 2022.

Here’s what NFL fans are worried about about the lack of building around Fields so far this off-season.
