Today i.e. September 9 is celebrated as World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day. To make this special day even more special, Japanese automaker Nissan today gifted its famous electric car Leaf to Kapil Dev, former captain of the Indian cricket team.
The company has handed over the key to Kapil Dev today and has also posted a picture on social media on this special occasion. In which it can be seen that Kapil Dev and the company’s managing director Rakesh Srivastava are standing with this electric hatchback car in red color. Although this car has not been launched in the Indian market yet, but there have been many indications of introducing it in the Indian market.
Now after this car was gifted to Kapil Dev, this discussion is gaining even more momentum that, soon it will be launched in the market here. In the US market, this car is available with two different battery packs. A battery pack of 40 kWh capacity has been given in one variant and a battery pack of 62 kWh capacity has been given in the other variant. In this, the electric motor used by the company generates the power of 147 hp and torque of 320 Nm.
The company claims that the 40 kWh battery pack delivers 240 km on a single charge and the 62 kWh variant gives a driving range of up to 360 km on a single charge. The smaller battery pack gets charged up to 80% in just 40 minutes and the larger battery pack in 45 minutes. With a regular charger, this hatchback car takes 8 hours to fully charge. The starting price of this car is US $ 27,400 (about Rs 20.16 lakh).
