The Kejriwal government has withdrawn the order for the Delhi High Court judge and other judicial staff to build a Covid Center in the Ashoka Hotel. The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government had ordered allotment of 100 rooms at the 5-star Ashoka Hotel in Chanakyapuri, Delhi.

The SDM of Chanakyapuri on 26 had issued a notification regarding the Kovid Center at Ashoka Hotel. It said that this Kovid facility would be operated by Primus Hospital. Apart from the judges, judicial employees and their families were also entitled to avail this facility.
After this matter came to cognizance, the High Court had slammed the Kejriwal government and asked whether all this was done to please the court? The court stated in unambiguous terms that no request was made on behalf of judges and other judicial officers and their families to convert the Ashoka Hotel complex into a Kovid-19 facility on a priority basis.

It was decided to reserve Hotel Golden Tulip Essential at Hari Nagar, Hotel Ginger of Four Four Star Hotels Vivek Vihar, Hotel Leela Ambience located near Shahdara’s Hotel Park Plaza, Karkardooma, Hari Nagar. As per the order issued by the Delhi government, these hotels will be connected to Rajiv Gandhi Superspeciality Hospital and Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital to treat the Delhi government, autonomous institutions and corporation officials and their families.
