Michel de Notre-Dame, better known as Nostradamus, made several predictions about Spain in his 1555 book ‘The Prophecies’. There are about a thousand poetic quatrains in which he predicts the future of the world.
He predicted historical events such as the French Revolution, World War I and World War II, Adolf Hitler’s rise to power, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the 9/11 attacks, and the destruction of the Twin Towers. His predictions for 2023 included a possible nuclear detonation, a possibility due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. However, he also left some for Spain.
Nostradamus Predictions for Spain
According to Nostradamus “the country will face a major climate change and a strong onslaught, as well as internal disputes that will divide the country and lead it straight to degeneration.” Most of the events are concentrated in Madrid and the Valencian Community, apart from the Canaries. island.
He points out that the influence of Russian rule on the North African coast will intensify, which leads Spain to “expect an increase in tensions with Algeria”. Apart from this, disputes between Russia and Norway in the Arctic will also increase. “The conflict will degenerate into a protracted conflict between Europe, the United States, the United Kingdom and Russia.”
In Spain, he reported that there would be many hit-and-runs or fatal fires in a restaurant. Also in the north of the country, especially Finisterre and La Coruña, warnings are being issued where “strong storms” are possible. As if this was not enough, from 2026 he points out that this could be the beginning of a war between European and Arab countries and Spain would be a common base.
