Novak Djokovic increased his chances of getting the No. 1 at the end of the year presented by Pepperstone and can extend this goal to eight periods, after winning his 24th Grand Slam at the US Open this Sunday.
Djokovic enters the final round in New York knowing that a possible loss to Daniil Medvedev will not allow him to overtake Carlos Alcaraz in the Pepperstone ATP Live Race To Turin. In addition, his advantage over Medvedev’s third place will be reduced to 755 points.
But the Serbian made the most of his opportunity, thanks to a three-set victory over Medvedev, in which he managed to put himself in first position in the Live Race To Turin with 8,945 points, 770 more than Carlos Alcaraz in second position ( 8.175). At the age of 36, Djokovic also has an advantage of 2,355 points over Medvedev (6,590), who qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals after winning the fourth round of the US Open.
