November 2021 Sales: Maruti, Honda car sales slow in November; Sales of Toyota Kirloskar, Mahindra have increased

NEW DELHI: Leading passenger vehicle makers Maruti Suzuki India and Hyundai Motor India saw their internal sales decline in November, with production down due to a shortage of semiconductors. However, with the exception of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), domestic players Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors reported last month an increase in wholesale sales of domestic passenger cars.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) said its total domestic sales fell by 18 per cent to 1,17,791 units last month from 1,44,219 units in November 2020. The company said in a statement that “the lack of electronic components has had a small effect on vehicle production this month.” Deficits mainly affect the production of vehicles sold in the domestic market. The company has taken all possible measures to reduce the impact.
