Elon Musk could be a ‘rival’ in his attempt to buy Twitter after American rapper Snoop Dogg said on Friday that Twitter ‘might have to buy now’. Snoop Dogg’s tweet (it was a joke, wasn’t it?) Musk said his $44 billion bid was ‘temporarily pending details of calculations (spam/fake accounts)…” Tesla and SpaceX founder Musk , the world’s richest man, later reaffirmed his commitment to the acquisition – which has yet to be approved by shareholders.
Snoop Dogg tweeted and offered his ‘business plan’ to the social media giant, “can now buy 2 twitters,” which includes free internet on the plane because (of course) ‘$29 b* for 1 hour **sh*t’ and a blue tick mark (indicates a verified user handle) for (well, almost) everyone.
“First line of business. Free internet on the plane!!! for 1 hour is $29 b***sh*t. Everyone gets a blue checkmark. Even the ones with 10 letters in their names Bots that hit you in the DM and just say ‘hello’. No f**k those bots.”
The rapper’s new ‘Board of Directors’ made for interesting reading too!
“Fish Fry from My Corner will replace the board of directors with Tommy Chung and Jimmy with Ponytail on CNBC.”
The ‘Tha Man’ with the ponytail said ‘I’m all in’, by the way.
Pete Najarian, a former American football player and co-founder of investor guidance firm Market Rebellion, was speaking at CNBC’s halftime report.
The show later tweeted a clip of the exchange with, “Hey Snoop Dogg, looks like Pete Najarian is interested. Our DMs are open.”
On Musk’s ‘temporarily’ halting bid, the billionaire announced on Saturday that his team would conduct ‘random sampling’ of 100 followers of his Twitter account on the social media platform.
“To find out, my team will do a random sample of 100 followers of @twitter. I invite other people to repeat the same process and see what they find…”
“The bots are very angry when they are counted.”
All this comes days after the South African-born entrepreneur said that one of his priorities – if and when he buys Twitter – will be to remove ‘spam bots’.
Shares of Twitter Inc fell after Musk tweeted that the takeover was ‘on hold’.
